THE SITE

Ferraro Vineyard, outskirts of Myrtleford.  Grown on the Ovens Valley floor, approximately 200m above sea level. F6V4 clone on S04 rootstock. Planted 2001.

 

WINEMAKING

Machine harvested and destemmed directly to open fermenters.  Some free run was bled off to concentrate flavours.  Split in two batches, one was fermented with indigenous yeast, the second with selected yeast.  Matured in Flexcubes for 8 months before blending.

 

WINEMAKERS NOTES

Lifted aromas of sour cherry, blackberry, dried flowers, and a hint of aniseed.

Sour cherry / dried florals / plush red fruit / fresh acidity
